ORH Communications Hub

The mission of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Rural Heath (ORH) Communications program is to tell the story about how ORH-supported programs are improving rural Veterans' access to care and their health outcomes. ORH reaches our external and internal audience through different media channels. Our primary methods are through content the ORH website and GovDelivery. ORH also collaborates with VHA Communications to release social media posts.

The ORH Communications program goal is to expand the reach of ORH information, build a larger audience, impact rural health care, and put Veterans first in everything we do.

Our Communications Goals

  • Expand the reach of ORH information and news.
  • Build a larger audience for ORH content.
  • Impact rural healthcare inside and outside VA.
  • Put Veterans first in everything we do.

How We Communicate

ORH uses an integrated communications approach. We share our content across multiple platforms, each reinforcing the other. The ORH website is the primary public source of information. GovDelivery email is the main vehicle for reaching audiences directly. Together, they form the core of the ORH communications strategy.
